Aroma: Muted notes of tobacco, licorice, and dried herbs on the nose.
Taste: A mind-blowing barolo for a great price. Wonderfully structured, with firm tannins, wild black fruits, notes of cedar, cigar box and violets leading into a long, intense yet graceful finish. Enjoy now or keep for several years.
Pairing: Enjoy alone or with olives, aged cheese, rich fish,
Additional notes: Chris Christensen never thought winemaking was an actual career path that people who weren’t born into a winery or vineyard could pursue, until he went on a wine tasting trip to the Sonoma Valley his Junior year at Stanford. From then on he was hooked on the idea of working at a winery. And here he still is, making wine, (minus the one year, one month, and 19 days he spent working in banking, thinking he had to graduate to a “real” job). As an African American vintner, Chris works to promote diversity and inclusion in the wine industry through speaking engagements, podcasts and mentorship opportunities for aspiring vintners and winery owners.
